Salary: $93,000 - 133,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or another related technical discipline.
• An ABET-accredited university degree is preferred.
• Educationally, we typically seek a Ph.D. with at least 4 years of experience, an M.S. with at least 8 years of experience, or a B.S. with at least 10 years of experience.
• We prefer systems engineering experience supporting hardware and software integration, requirements development, verification and validation, and testing.
• We require experience in defining simulation system-level and software requirements.
• We require experience creating verification and validation plans, protocols, and reports.
• We value experience designing, developing, and operating Hardware-in-the-Loop integration and test facilities.
• We prefer background in hardware-in-the-loop testing, avionics testing, flight software, launch vehicle simulations, or avionics systems engineering.
• We require experience with test system certification and simulation software accreditation.
• We prefer experience maintaining avionics integration labs and deployed emulator systems.
• We value experience evaluating avionics models used in HWIL systems.
• We prefer experience defining processes and procedures for the full lifecycle of HWIL integration and test facilities and deployed emulator systems.
• Familiarity with NASA systems engineering policies and procedures is desired.
• We require excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• We require the ability to obtain Star ID access to MSFC.
• We require proof of U.S. citizenship.

• We provide systems engineering support to the NASA SLS Avionics and Ground Systems Test Branch at MSFC for the Space Launch System program.
• We apply systems engineering methods to define and evaluate SLS IATF, SDF, and emulator requirements, interfaces, and verification and validation plans.
• We perform or coordinate trade studies, analysis, requirements definition and traceability, requirements allocation and verification, interface definition, system integration and test, and design verification and validation.
• We ensure requirements and specifications are verifiable and validatable, including risk mitigations, usability, and NASA requirements.
• We work closely with SLS IATF software, hardware, and facility development personnel throughout development, operations, verification, and validation.
• We assist the project verification and validation team by defining and delivering verification and validation project outputs.
• We identify the data needed to demonstrate that product configurations meet requirements and customer needs.
• We ensure test systems and equipment are properly validated and controlled.
• We review and analyze IATF system test data, record pass/fail results and conclusions, and trace results to requirements.
• We measure and report progress toward verification and validation completion and summarize the work performed, data reviewed, and conclusions reached in compliance with requirements.
• We support development testing to characterize designs and understand trade-offs.
• We create or contribute to verification and validation plans, protocols, and reports, execute those plans and protocols, and resolve deviations.
• We manage the schedule for verification and validation activities and produce status reports.
• We continue these activities as the launch vehicle architecture matures and the program advances through phases, reviews, and schedule milestones.
